christine comyn
accidentally discovered her as i was googling for orchid art images. what i love about her style is how fluid and haphazhardly drawn her pieces are.
i love chaotic art (think van gogh), they make me feel as if the artist is so passionately caught up in his/her subject that they are on the very brink of insanity, i love it. i love to trace their bold strokes with my eyes imagining what the artist was thinking right at the moment when they made that sweep of wrist.
which really explains my love for charcoal, crayons, pencil, chalk based art. for abstract unfinished drawings. its rawness is appealing. totally unapolegetic for its mistakes or its bizarre messiness. i love it!
anyway, back to the subject at hand. christine comyn has a little of that touch, her subjects are always females caught in a moment. there's an under current of strong femaleness in each piece, sometimes dark, sometimes light as a lark.
i really like how she mesh up so many colours that translates into motion. its dishevelled but it makes sense. some of them are sultry (as women are)
