meme mon - from bawangmerah
this meme is a baton passed from BawangMerah.
1. What is the total amount of music files on your computer?
at work - 9.91 gigs
at home - 9.98 gigs (i have an entire partitioned drive dedicated to my music :)
2. The CD you last bought?
hmm. i mostly download my music....the last cd i ripped was damien rice's. the last cd i burnt for myself is jack johnson's latest (which was the last music i downloaded). the last cd i bought....i can't remember....
3. What was the last song you listened to before reading this message?
bitter by meshell ngedeocello - the one spinning on chaos radio. it was playing on my pc while i was getting ready for work. oh wait - elvis was playing in the car on the way to work with dad.
4. Write down five songs that you often listen to or that mean a lot to you.
songs? i'm going with artists.
radiohead - you can chart my musical journey into before radiohead, and after radiohead. creep switched me from pop to alternative, practically changed my life. there was no turning back after radiohead.
sarah mclachlan - angel, do what you have to do, ice cream, fallen, train wreck - she is honey to my wounds
fiona apple - her voice has accompanied my dark sombre moods many a nights, many a nights
tori amos - she helped me release my rage. cracked my cocoon wide open.
metallica - i took up drums to play sad but true (still cant play it of course). nothing else matters and call of ctulu made me practice hard on my guitar. their music drove me to better myself. until it sleeps, wherever i may roam, the unforgiven, bleeding me - they just RAWK my world.
deftones - mental orgasm the first time i heard their music, i couldn't stop listening (for months). entrancing bewitching stuff.
portishead - .....what can i say about my portishead. i was OBSESSED with them. under a spell. beth's voice imprisoned me. utley and barrow's music arrangement consumed me. i slept with them walked with them thought with them everything with portishead glued to my ears.
bic runga - ah. listening to her is crashing into an ocean full of memories. nights in mt k, afternoons in islands, it's a compulsory play during any trips for me and nev. 3am reveries in the shared apartment when everyone is sleeping, strumming it over the phone, singing it to a crowd. packed with memories.
alanis - voice of my generation she is. jagged lil pill album was just such a major music force. she improved my vocabulary too :) her songs kicked everyone's arse with its unapologetic honesty.
5. Who are you going to pass this stick to (3 persons) and why?
thisguy - because he absolutely has great taste in music (he always recommends brilliant musicians to me)
soulburn - because i love to read her, and i really want to see her answers
damien o -err, because he'd make a fuss if i left him out of this list?
nev - because its been ages since i last read anything that he wrote, and we used to be musically compatible :)
su-yin - be it an emo post or a sarcy entry, this girl can write. plus she loves smashing pumpkins, need i say more?
naz - because he likes lists so much :) maybe he'll like memes.
p/s: judging from this entry and my book entry, we can safely deduce that yeah, i can't count
